Head Coach/Advisor: Kelly Mills Abrams

EMAIL: TOHSCheer.STUNT@gmail.com

BIO: Coach Abrams began cheering at Agoura High School, where she was captain of her competition team both her junior and senior year, and competed on their first ever team to perform at UCA’s National High School Cheerleading Championship (earning 10th in the Varsity Small All-Girl division and then 9th the following year in Varsity Small Coed). She continued cheering out of high school, first as a member of the UC Davis Stunt Squad, and then as a seven-year member on the Cheer Empire/Titan Elite Pro team. Coach Abrams earned five USA national titles while on this team in the coed, all-girl, and group stunt divisions. In 2007, she traveled back to Orlando to compete in the USASF World Cheerleading Championship, earning 6th place. Coach Abrams was also a cheer instructor for three years with Spirit Club Intl., where she was responsible for instructing camps, judging competitions as a safety judge, and assisting with curriculum development and staff instruction. In 2001, Coach Abrams had the honor of traveling to Costa Rica to judge their Campeonato Nacional de Porrisima (National Cheerleading Championship) – a nationally televised event with an incredible amount of spirited participants. She began coaching as an assistant coach at Agoura High School in 2003, and continued working there as she earned her teaching credential. After teaching at Thousand Oaks for a year and still coaching at Agoura, Coach Abrams finally decided to end the conflict of interest and began coaching at TOHS. That winter, in addition to coaching the TOHS Spirit Team, Coach Abrams began the Competition Cheer Program, which has competed with at least one team annually since then. In 2009, Coach Abrams was a Cheer Pros California State Coach of the Year nominee, and in 2017 she was named Marmonte League STUNT Coach of the Year, following her team's League Championship.  Coach Abrams received her BA in English from UC Irvine in 2003, and her teaching credential from California Lutheran University in 2005. The 2019-2020 season will be her 14th year coaching cheer at TOHS, and her 6th season coaching STUNT.
